At approximately 0915 hrs on Friday Feb. 19, 2016, Officers from the West University Police Department spotted two male suspects in a vehicle believed to be BMV suspects from a recent BMV at the 24 Hr Fitness on Kirby Dr. in Houston.

Officers from the West University Police Department observed the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle began to elude uniformed police officers in marked police vehicles finally stopping in the 3600 block of Bellaire Blvd. The suspects jumped out of their vehicle, abandoning the vehicle at an apartment complex located in the city of Houston. One suspect was caught by West University and Southside Place police officers and the second suspect eluded officers on foot by running south from 3600 Bellaire along Poor Farm ditch towards the Braes Heights area of southwest Houston.

One suspect was apprehended at the scene of the evading police arrest location 3600 Bellaire Blvd. Suspect Number 2, unidentified Black Male, young adult, tall and thin, was last seen running south along Poor Farm ditch.

A West University Police Supervisor was injured as a result of being struck by a passing motorist, but is expected to recover.

The West University Police Department, the Southside Place Police Department, the Bellaire and Houston Police Departments all assisted in the investigation of these events.
